Board and State Leads
Faye Lawrence, Founder and CEO
Faye Lawrence founded Untoxicated (Booze Free Fun and Friendship) in early 2018. Having been a heavy but high functioning drinker since her teens she wound up in inpatient detox in late 2017 after the wheels really fell off. Determined not to let her sobriety ruin her social life Untoxicated was born.
Faye’s professional background is in marketing, communications & corporate affairs, predominantly in the not for profit sector. She also holds a psychology degree, graduating shortly after she got sober. A social butterfly and a bit of an idealist, she believes in a world where everyone belongs. She is a mum of two adult children - Amber and Remy - and a badly behaved Bengal cat.
Stephen Humphreys, Chairman
Stephen is the director of two businesses, Humphreys Advisory and Wolf Debt Management. Over the course of a 21 year career as a lawyer, accountant and consultant Stephen has worked with businesses of all sizes to solve their problems and improve.
An experienced director and adviser in the “Not for Profit” space, Stephen is passionate about the mission of Untoxicated and honoured to be its Chair. He is also a cricket tragic and the legend behind the infamous Brisbane’s Best Pie.
Darrell Price, Non-Executive Director
Darrell is Principal and National Head of Health and Aged Care at Grant Thornton. He has strength in facilitating strategic direction setting, decision making, hospital redevelopments, mergers, acquisitions and other transactions across a diverse industry group including hospitals, health services, aged care, seniors living, community and disability services.
As the recent President of a mental health service and qualified counsellor, Darrell is passionate about making a difference in this area and believes we all need to be better at caring for each other. He also quite enjoys a pie.
Jodie McKenzie, Company Secretary
Jodie’s professional background includes governance and law, until she saw the light and moved into interior design. Jodie and Faye met at work back in 2010 and their nights out together were legendary (for both gossip and wine consumption). These days they are more inclined towards coffee and the occassional walk, but the gossip remains a staple feature of their friendship. Jodie is bringing her company secretary chops to Untoxicated; thank heavens.
She lives in Brisbane with her husband Steve and their rascally dog, Atticus.
Eve Poingdestre - Strategic Advisor to CEO
Eve has over sixteen years’ experience in leadership and management positions in not for profits in Australia and in the UK. She is also experienced and qualified in adult education. She has several leadership and management qualifications including an MBA (2019). She is currently in a Project and Implementation Lead role, and business consultancy. She has also held Management positions in for profit and a government organisation.
Eve is driven by helping others find their passion and their way forward to achieving their dreams.
Sammi Webb – VIC Lead
Samantha works by day as Executive Assistant to the CEO at Beyond Blue and is passionate about sharing her sober journey and encouraging others to challenge their own relationship with alcohol (read more here). Finding her Sober Tribe at Untoxicated has been an important part of her sober journey.
She has 2 teenage boys that keep her on her toes and can often be found at the local gym, beach or live music venue.
Mags Sheridan – NSW Lead
Mags is a recovery coach at sobermojo.com who has written programs to help women re-discover their personal power in the wake of quitting drinking. She’s also the facilitator of a monthly women’s circle, She Recovers.
She’s passionate about releasing the hold that alcohol can have on women especially in middle age and about healing the damage that escalating drinking can do, especially when combined with existing anxiety or depression or major life events like divorce. Social connections like Untoxicated are an essential part of this healing.
Stuart Brownbill - QLD Lead
Stuart is a bit of a machine and is always on the go - mountain biking, running, at the gym, or camping. Given his passion for an active lifestyle and the outdoors he’s introduced many of these types of activities to the Untoxicated community in events he has hosted.
By day Stuart works with young people in out of home care and is a qualified mountain bike coach.
Helen Piczak - Community Engagement Coordinator
Helen Piczak is sober after many years of addiction and used creativity to get back on track and give herself a purpose in life. Helen runs Beading Workshops aimed at vulnerable people in early recovery.
She is a mum of two young men and she is passionate about giving back to the community that has helped her.
